Made an unexpected trip last night to the top of the Blauen, which is the second highest mountain in the region. Got there just in time for sunset.
I’d been here before, four years ago on a trip to visit friends. It never occurred to me then that we would someday be living in the area.
Wednesday’s trip was not in the plans when we left the house after dinner, or at least not in my plans – my wife probably had it in mind as a possible destination to show our house guests. Since I didn’t know I was going to be there I didn’t think to bring my camera, so these pictures were taken with my phone.
I didn’t have my camera with me in 2015 either, I don’t think. I should look at my photo files to be sure. Which means I should be planning another trip to take some proper pictures, and maybe hike some of the trails.
You can get a great view of the area from the top of the Blauen. But last night it was the sunset that caught my eye more than anything else.
