I overheard this on the elevator this morning on Parliament Hill. It sounded like the person was quoting, so I checked online.

The first hit suggested it comes from Socrates. That works for me. It’s also not very different from some of the Biblical proverbs.

I have no idea how I lived this long without ever having come across this saying. Maybe it is becasue UI really pay no attention to gossip.
