It’s been one of those days. The groundhogs have been out with their predictions – take your pick. Wiarton Willie, Canada’s most famous groundhog, is calling for an early spring this year. I guess no-one told him it is going to be minus thirty overnight.
Shubenacadie Sam saw her shadow, which means six more weeks of winter, in Nova Scotia anyway.
And in Quebec, Fred la Marmotte made no prediction. Apparently he died at some point over the winter but nobody noticed since he was hibernating. It’s been that sort of year.
I didn’t bother to see what the groundhogs were predicting in the United States or United Kingdom. Really, what does a groundhog know?
