The fall colors in Sulzburg are nothing like the vibrant red, yellows and oranges that I am used to in eastern Canada. Yet they have a beauty of their own.

Walking by Castellberg, on the outskirts of Sulzburg this week, I was struck by the beauty of the vineyards in the late afternoon sun. The fields were a blaze of gold.
During the summer it isn’t easy to tell the different grape varieties from a distance. Green leaves are green leaves.

Looking at the hill now though, you can see that there are a dozen rows of one grape variety, then a different one right beside it. I don’t know if that is because of the angle of the sun’s rays, or maybe the leaves of different types yellow differently.
Whatever the reason, I hope you agree with me that the different shades of yellow and gold are spectacular.

wow! Thanks
