Time To Apologize?

No-one else will do it, so I will ask. Does Shania Twain owe Ottawa an apology?

The 2023 edition of Bluesfest kicked off Thursday evening. It was a beautiful hot summer day, and 30,000 people gathered at Ottawa’s LeBreton Flats to meet up with friends and share some beer, food and conversation.

I noticed though that some people had to shout in order for their friends to hear them. Which was sad.

You would think that after paying $100 or so to get inside the gates you would be able to have a conversation with your friends without having to shout. But that wasn’t the case.

From where I was standing, it seemed like everyone was there to be with friends. It must have been really annoying to have your conversation drowned out by Shania Twain, who kept insisting on singing her songs, even when it seemed like most people would rather just talk.

It must have seemed so rude, but those trying to carry on a conversation were so polite. They didn’t yell at her to stop singing and shut up or to turn down the music. Not once. They just increased their conversation volume.

That was so classy of you Ottawa. Especially since she’s probably not going to apologize for disturbing your conversations. But don’t you think she should?

Much cheaper to have a glass of wine at home with friends without Shania Twain, paying $100 each and crowded by 30,000 people. that’s what we did. 😂😅
