I studied Latin in high school. it reached the point where I could speak the language after a fashion, though I can’t say I enjoyed it. Waiting for teh end of the sentence for the verb always annoyed me. I’ve forgotten most of it – but I am pretty sure Wednesday is not Latin for “almost Friday.” Nice sentiment though.

In Ottawa the correct reply to that question is: “I had to take the train to work and it broke down again.” Still, with warmer weather the train may become more reliable. Or something different will go wrong.

Somehow I think there’s a certain element of truth to this one. Mind you, some people avoid retiring becasue there’s a long list of chores waiting at home if they are no longer employed.
