A couple of years ago I visited the ruins of the castle in Staufen in the Black Forest area of Germany. I had just gotten off the plane and was considerably jet-lagged and probably didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have.
Times change. Last week some friends sent us a real estate listing for an apartment in Staufen, just in case we were interested in checking it out. We need a place to live this fall and Staufen is a nice town. We have a viewing scheduled for Wednesday, though we won’t be present in person to see the place.
Given that though, it seemed like a good time to re-post my jet-lagged impressions of Staufen Castle. Who knows, it might become the view from my kitchen window.
I thought today we’d let the pictures do the talking – some shots from my visit to Staufen Castle.
As you can see, the view of the surrounding area is very picturesque. There are benches at the entrance to he ruins where people can just sit and admire the view.
