The leaves have finally begun to change colours, later this year than normal. It has been a busy time and I haven’t been able to head out and enjoy the beauty of an Ottawa Fall. I’m hoping for next weekend, if it doesn’t rain.

These pictures are from Thanksgiving 2011, our after dinner walk along one of the trails in Ottawa’s urban forest. My daughter remembers this outing well: we told her that we thought we would walk for half an hour, so she and her best friend decided to join us. As you can see, it was a beautiful day so we just kept walking. I think we got back to our starting point about three hours after setting out. Those expecting a short walk were not amused.
