I was thinking of collecting the best humor online about the Canada-US trade war, the tariffs leveled by the USA ,and the Canadian retaliation. Problem was, I couldn’t find anything really funny to share.

Still, there were a few images I found mildly amusing. I am sharing them today, trying to add some levity to a very serious topic.

I don’t think Americans really understand the economics of international trade. Or maybe Americans do generally and the current president doesn’t.

Economies work best when trade is set free. If someone can produce a product cheaper than you can, you buy it. And workers in your country can concentrate on doing what they do best, and sell those products to the people who need them. Everyone makes money that way.

I could write a lot about the pros and cons of the current trade dispute and why it is hurting both countries. It would be way too long, so I’m not going to give in to that temptation right now. And, I suspect it is going to escalate before saner minds prevail, so there will be lots of opportunity to write on the topic.

I hope these inspire a chuckle at least.
