Canadian weather is like a politician. It makes promises, then doesn’t deliver.
Today, for example, was a nice spring day. Almost summer-like. By mid afternoon it was 15 degrees Celsius. It seemed certain winter was over.
People were out walking in shirts. Cyclists were enjoying snow -free roads and paths. Dog walkers were stopping to socialize.
The weather was lying to us though, just like a politician. When I wake up Tuesday morning the forecast says that freezing rain will be falling. That is winter weather, not spring.
Thursday has the same forecast. With the addition of a couple of centimetres of snow. Wednesday will just be cold. You don’t expect that once you have hit double digits as a daily high.
I like winter. But increasingly I am beginning to understand why so many Canadians take warm weather vacations during the season.
Not me though. The only thing worse than suffering through the bad weather would be to escape it, and then have to come back to it.
It is making me a little lethargic though. I just want to curl up with a good book or two and stay in my armchair until summer arrives. No matter how many months that takes.
I wonder if anyone would notice my absence.
