About this time each year I share photos of the sunrise over Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I expected to to do that again today.

Except, even though I have been on the beach before 5:30 each morning this week, I haven’t seen any sunrises. Some days it has been cloudy, others hazy (possibly wildfire smoke from up north).

Whichever it is, by the time the sun forces its way through the cover, it isn’t rising over the ocean but it already high in the sky, So today’s sunrise pictures are from 2016.

I’ll keep trying though – if I am awake early enough.
