I was out shopping today. Groceries, not presents, but that meant I saw the crowds. Lots of people looking for last-minute gifts.
I’m at that stage in life where gift-giving ir pretty easy. My family has everything the need. except, I am told, a potato masher, so we don’t really exchange Christmas presents.
That’s easy when everyone is an adult. It’s a lot tricker when there are children in the household.
I must admit I walked into a bookstore situated midway between two grocery stores. I saw lots of books I wouldn’t mind reading, but none that I want to own.
A book I want to own is one I expect to read more than once. For anything else I depend on the public library.
News reports tell me a lot of retailers are counting on Christmas sales to make ends meet. Maybe more than usual.
So far I haven’t done my part in bolstering the economy. But there is still tomorrow.
