So by the time I snapped pictures of this snake the sun had done its work and the sand sculpture was nowhere near as impressive as it had been several hours beforehand.

Making one of these sculptures takes several hours, sometimes a whole day. It seems like a lot of time to spend on something that is going to be wiped out by the tide – but on vacation time is what you have.
