Today is International Women’s Day – which is much more celebrated in Europe than North America. I was wondering why that is.

Are women (and men) in North America too busy to celebrate? Or is it seen as an unnecessary event, on par with National Asparagus Day? (I’m sure I don’t have to remind you that Asparagus Day is May 24 – it isn’t the sort of thing you would forget, even if you did forget today is Women’s Day.)

I thought to honor the day I’d share some humorous images celebrating the occasion. Problem is, most of what I found wouldn’t be seen as funny by women. The others wouldn’t have been seen as funny by men. Some of them, maybe the majority, were offensive.

Which left me with the question, do I really want to antagonize 100% of the people who are reading this? Of course not – but there were images I thought were genuinely funny. So I’m going to take my chances with a few. If it turns out they aren’t funny, blame it on me being a person with no sense of humor.
