October

The leaves have begun to change colours. There are frost warnings at night. Summer has ended, Fall is well underway and Winter is fast approaching.

As the leaves come down we see Fall as a time of decay. Yet we know that resurrection is coming, the trees will be restored and renewed in Spring. That hope brings us through the long Winter.

For this Sunday morning a modern hymn that fits the season perfectly.

October
And the trees are stripped bare
Of all they wear
What do I care

October
And kingdoms rise
And kingdoms fall
But You go on and on

It’s a nice time of year. It’s time to hunker down, hide nuts(!) and hibernate more and prepare for the renewal of the following year without overlooking how cool this time of year can be.

Unfortunately we are in the middle of an election campaign, so here is no hiding of nuts going on – they are all out running for office!
