Our news media are very sensitive when it comes to people’s personal preferences when it comes to their pronouns or gender expression. If you want to use they/them, or identify as other than male or female. they make sure that they follow your wishes.
So why does the same standard not apply to those who champion fetal rights? Why are those who are in favor of abortion “pro-choice” (which sounds like a good thing, right?) while those who call themselves “pro-life” are always described as “anti-abortion” (and being anti-anything is usually not seen favorably)?
If someone is accorded the courtesy of being able to choose a descriptive pronoun, then why can’t someone “pro-life” be described that way?
Is it media bias? Or is something else at play here? Any suggestions?
