I saw this photo online last week and chuckled. I figured it was worth sharing, even if I wasn’t sure if it was real.

It is. In 2018 Black River Meats in Vermont added these instructions to their packaging. I don’t know if they still have them – but if I am near a grocery store in that state I will be tempted to go in and check.

Of course, it turns out not everyone can take a joke. The teachers’ union took exception to it, pointing out that it is the role of parents, not the education system, to ensure children learn how to cook bacon.

I see their point. We do ask a lot of teachers.

I also still think it is funny.

I wonder if any elected officials received complaints.
