Times have changed. No longer can visiting musicians woo Canadians by praising the Prime Minister. That is so 2015.

Maybe the Rolling Stones are just out of touch with Canadian society. No shame in that, given that they don’t live here. And I guess the fans don’t care who the band likes.

But I’ll bet he didn’t make references to Joe Biden or Donald Trump when the Stones were paying in the US.

At least Mick knew Canada’s national soccer team is doing well. They take on Argentina in the semifinals of the Copa America tonight. Not bad for their first ever appearance in the tournament.

No-one expects them, as the 48th ranked team in the world to beat the world number one – but stranger things have happened.

It will definitely be an entertaining game to watch.
