Wednesday’s Smile

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of Biden, Trump and Trudeau in this space. I thought we all needed a break, because I am sure there is still much more to come before the year is out.

I laughed when this one arrived in my email, so hopefully you will find it funny too. It is so theologically incorrect. (Haloes and wings don’t get issued to you when you die, nor is Heaven a place where you stand around on clouds – though admittedly most of what we think we know about the place is wrong.)

But it does speak volumes about our attachment to our phones. I say that as someone who won’t leave home without one, though it is the news not social media apps that has me looking for updates. Many days I’m wishful for the old days of getting my news from a printed newspaper and having to wait 24 hours for the next one.

We’ve become conditioned by technology. It has become our master, when we thought it would be our servant. As a society, and as individuals, we are still trying to think about what that means for the future.

Wait, I was going to keep things light today. So I’ll just leave you with this one. Don’t think about what it means.
