Vacation Thoughts V
The sixth great confusion apparently is why someone make a six-item list only includes five items. I figured I would include it anyway. I know some of the answers. For the first one, the correct answer is both. For the third one, obviously we didn’t evolve from monkeys. I’ll let you work out the others. […]
Vacation Thoughts IV
Just a reminder today that it is a good idea to think before you post. I’m taking a break from daily routines, trying to recharge. Well, at least as much as possible with a three-year-old around. So for the next little while I’m going to be sharing one pearl of wisdom a day that I […]
Vacation Thoughts III
Today’s thought is for everyone who has had a bad day relating to coworkers. I’m taking a break from daily routines, trying to recharge. Well, at least as much as possible with a three-year-old around. So for the next little while I’m going to be sharing one pearl of wisdom a day that I found […]
Vacation Thoughts II
This isn’t so much a poke at the younger generation as a sad commentary on how litigious our society has become. It is like the warning that coffee may be hot – it shouldn’t need to be stated, but the lawyers insist. I’m taking a break from daily routines, trying to recharge. Well, at least […]
Vacation Thoughts I
I’ve used the line myself – this rings so true. I’m taking a break from daily routines, trying to recharge. Well, at least as much as possible with a three-year-old around. So for the next little while I’m going to be sharing one pearl of wisdom a day that I found online. Some days it […]
Flashback Directions
On Fridays this year we have been looking at older posts from the same date that you may have missed. I remember this 2018 post well – at my age learning a new language isn’t fun. My German teacher supposedly appreciates my sense of humor, though she has told my wife if I don’t curb […]
The Joys of Aging
For the record: When the check engine light comes on, I take my car to a mechanic. For other warning lights, it depends. Low tire pressure I can fix myself. Same with shut rear door. Being neither a mechanic, nor a doctor, I don’t take chances. But I still found the meme funny.
The Donor
Political campaigns need money. Getting elected, at almost any level, requires people who believe in you enough to contribute to the campaign. Kamala Harris set a record Monday, raising $81 million the day after Joe Biden stepped aside as the Democratic candidate. That would indicate a pretty fair amount of support – more indeed than […]
The Axe Falls
The Director of the US Secret Service resigned today. Given the climate of the times, she had no option. I saw some excerpts of Kimberly Cheatle’s testimony before a Congressional committee investigating the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, an act that took place ten days ago. Given the political bent of the website I was […]
Offering Me Money
Are you getting them too? Emails from a financial institution offering a line of credit? When the first one came last month, I ignored it. Not only was it from some lender I had never heard of, but the line of credit was being offered for my business, Lorne A. Martin Excavation. Do you see […]
