Birds of a Feather

I have never been a big fan of Walmart. There are a number of reasons, going back to when they first came to Canada in the 1990s. I’m not going to list them all here.

Earlier today though, I came up with a new new one. Apparently they’ll let anyone shop there.

Normally I don’t think about who I am sharing the grocery aisles with. Race, color, creed, political affiliation, it doesn’t matter. Everyone deserves to be able to shop for food. But I draw the line at birds.

My first thought was that my eyes were deceiving me. There really couldn’t be a small flock of birds in the snacks aisle. I must just be overtired.

I didn’t get a photo of the one that flew by with a potato chip in its beak. I didn’t want to take the chance of it deciding to poop on me.

Who lets these birds into the store? And I wonder how they are going to get them out?

They get in through the roof. And live there. They are in nearly all of the US WalMart stores in the US. Maybe they decided to try WalMart in Canada because the potato chips ran out?

I’ve never seen them before. At least it wasn’t raccoons.
