I saw this photo on Twitter (I’m still resisting calling it X) and immediately wished I was browsing this library. It reminded me of the main branch of Canada’s Parliamentary library, which is closed while Centre Block is being renovated.

My guess is that this particular library is British, though I suppose there are similar places outside the UK. The ropes make me think it is institutional as opposed to being part of someone’s residence. If you know where it is, please share that information in the Comments section.

I love books, because I love to read. There’s something magical about opening a book and discovering what is inside. No matter how much i read, there are still new (and sometimes old) things to discover.

In the past few years, especially when i was living in Germany, I have read a lot of electronic books. I appreciate the convenience. There were no English books available in my local library in Germany, but I could still download them from the Ottawa Public Library. It just didn’t feel the same though.

If I was rich, I would have a huge library in my house, just like the one in the picture. I’m never going to be rich though.

Becoming rich takes time and effort. That’s time that would be taken away from reading. I’m not willing to do that.
