This post is from the Spring of 2016, and I realized today that I still haven’t been back to the Portland waterfront to see if the sign was still there and to ask the questions. I know life is busy, but there’s really no excuse for that. Probably the sign is long gone by now.
Looking through some old photos and noticed this one that I took while on vacation in Maine in 2008. This was downtown Portland, right on the waterfront.
I have to wonder about whether the owners of the parking space had ever followed through on their threat to the vehicles parked in violation of the rules. Would such actions be legal? After all, there was a warning…
And if you push a car into the harbor, do you get fined for polluting? And who gets charged – the pusher or the person owning the vehicle.
This summer I should try and find the sign again, maybe ask some questions.
